Adoptable Standard Poodle, Mira

Mira

Mira is an 11-month-old Standard Poodle in desperate need of a new home. The breeder she came from had the puppies crated on top of each other 10+ hours a day, handled them roughly, and provided them with little structure or guidance. In the months she has lived with her current owner, she has struggled with intense nerve/anxiety issues around strangers, especially children. We began training with Mira to help address this issue. However, due to the busy nature of the parent's work schedule and present risk to the children, she needs to continue this work in a calmer environment that will set her up for success.

Mira would do best in a home with patient adults who can give her structure, training, and a purpose. We are offering 10 free sessions and a lifetime of discounted training to any adopters within an hour of our location in Mims, FL. She lived with a groomer and is excellent for the grooming process. Mira enjoys playing with other dogs in the home and does well with them. She does have some prey drive and will chase or corner cats. Once they put her in her place she leaves them alone. She has shown some food and toy guarding behaviors, though this improves when she has plenty of toys available.

If you want to help Mira, please ask around, refer us to rescues that may be able to help place her, and/or share any posts we make about her on social media. Please fill out a contact form to learn more about the adoption process.
